Early Life and Family
Allu Arjun was born on April 8, 1982, in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India. He is the son of film producer Allu Aravind and Nirmala. Allu Arjun hails from the prestigious Konidela–Allu family, which has made significant contributions to Indian cinema. His paternal grandfather, Allu Ramalingaiah, was a noted film comedian who appeared in over 1,000 films.
Education
Allu Arjun attended St. Patrick’s School in Chennai and later moved to Hyderabad with his family in the 1990s. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at MSR College in Hyderabad.
Career Beginnings
Allu Arjun made his acting debut in 2003 with the film Gangotri, where he played the role of Simhadri. The film was a commercial success and earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South. His breakthrough came with the fantasy action film Magadheera (2009), directed by S. S. Rajamouli, which became the highest-grossing Telugu film at the time of its release. For his performance in Magadheera, he received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu.
Rise to Prominence
Following Magadheera, Allu Arjun starred in several successful films, including Orange (2010), Racha (2012), Naayak (2013), Yevadu (2014), and Govindudu Andarivadele (2014). His performance in Rangasthalam (2018) earned him his second Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu. Allu Arjun achieved further commercial success with the blockbuster RRR (2022), which ranks as the third-highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
